Glacier Martial

Today, we hike up from camp to Glacier Martial, only an hour or two from here, and what starts out as a wet but tolerable forest hike turns into a full on winter walk.

If this is the Tierra del Fuego summer, I’m not sure I want to see the winter, for despite what the locals about it being temperate and about this summer being exceptionally cool, nothing about this scene right here says anything other than the black-and-white death slumber of winter days.

My New Balance are I match for this frozen ground, and by the time we get to the glacier, my legs are frozen stiff, torso whipped, and I’m no longer confident words like “fun” and “enjoyable” qualify.

At the very least, we came, we saw, and we most definitely went.
