High-Rise Living


My cousin Marie and her Hugh-Grant-look-alike boyfriend, Thierry, do Graham and I the pleasure of hosting us in their new high-rise digs for a Saturday night fun fest, and we graciously accept the trundle-bed set up in their spiffy new place.

A happy coincidence, Marie and I serendipitously plan our arrivals to São Paulo only days apart, both coming to reunite with our loves, me for a South American getaway, she as an expat as her honey starts a new work assignment abroad.

We take the Thierry taxi ride from H3 to their neck of the city, a pleasant little neighborhood with Miami feel and pastel buildings and swimming pools and cutesy restaurants and stores and markets, and hallelujah, a beer and chips later, it’s off to do what a group does best–
