Pain Quotidien

The Pain Quotidien is to France (but, shhhhh! don’t tell them it was started by a Belgian!) what Big Daddy Bagels is to Boulder–I almost went with Einstein Bagels to the US, but ick, compared to small shop bagels, Einstein’s churns out chewy nastiness, bagels so gummy they rival chiclet–and on this fine samedi, Céline and I have a brunch date with a basket of home-cooked breads, jams, and hazelnut spread.

And, a latté.

Inspired yumminess, these breads and their spreads, communal tables of morning bread breaking, and mmmm, mmmm, it feels good to be continental this AM.
