Poon Hill Trek: In Review

20121009-220622.jpg

A snapshot view of the trek–

Length: 4 days / 3 nights
Location: southwestern Annapurna Conservation area
Route: Nayapul – Tikkedhunga – Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghandruk – Nayapul
Starting Elevation: 1070 m
Highest Point: 3200 m
Total Elevation Gain: 2130 m
Total Mileage: 20 (?)
Difficulty: Moderate
Overall Rating: One of the best treks of my life

From what I’ve gathered this go around, a few possible routes for my next trip:

Everest Base Camp (21 days)
Annapurna Base Camp (7 days)
Annapurna Circuit (10 days?)
Mustang, desolate and wind swept on the Tibetan plateau
Rafting into Chitwan from Pokhara

Barring unforeseen catastrophes, wormholes, and otherwise unplanned events, I wholly intend to come back to Nepal ready for a significantly longer trek with my loves. Hell, ideally, I should be coming back for a stretch of time to trek and volunteer with Nepali’s children and schools.

Who’s in??
